V. Goodridge receives second best Player of the Week award in Ukraine

22-year old guard Randy Culpepper (182-G-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Ferro-ZNTU and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13. He had the game-high 32 points adding three assists for Ferro-ZNTU in his team's victory, helping them to crush Budivelnyk (#1, 11-3) with 21-point margin 99-78. Ferro-ZNTU maintains the 9th position in league. Ferro-ZNTU is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team's last game Culpepper had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Ferro-ZNTU's top player in his first season with the team. The Univ.of Texas at El Paso graduate has very impressive stats this year. Culpepper is league's best scorer averaging so far 19.6ppg. Culpepper is in league's top in and averages solid 56.6% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was VERNON GOODRIDGE (206-F-84) of BC Kyiv. He is American forward in his first season at BC Kyiv. In the last game Goodridge recorded impressive double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for BC Kyiv to edge the lower-ranked Halychyna (#13, 2-12) by 3 points 80-77. BC Kyiv's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Goodridge is a newcomer at BC Kyiv and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Former La Salle University star Goodridge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Third place about best performers goes to center Shawn King (208-C-82) of BC Odessa (#6). King scored 18 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of BC Odessa, leading his team to a 97-79 easy win against the lower-ranked DniproAzot (#12, 2-12). BC Odessa needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 5 lost games. King has a great season in Ukraine. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.7ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 10.3rpg (2nd best). He also has 2.6bpg and FGP: 62.2%.
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues.
