The town has been granted status of resort territory because of the beutiful countryside, mineral springs, the present day and would-be spas, ski routes, the growing network of recreation services. Between the two world wars in independent Lithuania Anykščiai was a resort. This fact was one of the incentives to strive to become a resort territory and, finally, a resort. It is a tiny bit of land surrounded by crystal-clear lakes, proud of its high mounds, rich cultural heritage and lovely countryside. The town of Anykščiai, situated at the confluence of the Šventoji and Anykšta rivers, is renowned for its literary tradition, veiled by myths and legends.

SPORTS FACILITIES
Sportsmen and complex"s guests can have a fun game in the new in-door basketball arena (1032 m2). There is a possibility to play out-door tennis also. There are 4 changing rooms and shower facilities available for sport teams. If you like to stay fit, there are 16 different kind of fitness equipment in the fitness center. There is a great 25 m length with 6 tracks closed swimming pool with cacscades and 500 seats for the spectators.

Up to 10 people at once can enjoy this sauna. Round swimming pool ,showers and toilets are right there also. These facilities can be booked together with a banquet hall. The River Šventoji attracts more and more water sports lovers who go down the river by canoes and rafts.
